Proposal workshops
Do you have an idea for the Diversity Challenge and are wondering which aspects of diversity actually play a role? We have planned four proposal workshops to help you address your target groups more effectively.
To take part in a workshop, please email us at info@diversity-magdeburg.de.
We will then send you all the necessary information (location, room).
- Workshop 1: 22 April 2026, 4.00–6.00 pm
- “Is our planned programme gender-sensitive? Or do we want it to become gender-sensitive?”
In this workshop, you can assess your programme ideas to determine whether the diversity dimension of gender should be a key focus for you, one dimension among others, or whether it is not really taken into account. Following a brief introduction to the characteristics of gender sensitivity, we will move on to practical exercises to explore what might suit your own programme. You will receive suggestions to refine your idea and engage in discussion with other participants. You are also welcome to drop by if you do not yet have a group to take part in the challenge and are looking for like-minded people to join. We look forward to lively discussions and ideas.

`Awareness’
You’ve got a project idea! – But is it truly designed to be diverse and inclusive? In the How-to-be-AWARE workshop, you’ll have the space to find out exactly that. This interactive workshop offers you the chance to raise your awareness of discrimination, barriers and exclusion.
Together, we’ll take a closer look: where might unconscious barriers arise? What role do language, location, target audience or structures play?
We’ll explore what it means to respect boundaries and avoid exclusion. You’ll then scrutinise your own project idea and make targeted adjustments to make it more inclusive, sensitive and accessible.

- Workshop 3: 6 June 2026
- ‘What does an inclusive programme look like?’
Do you want to make your project inclusive, or are you planning a project that explicitly addresses issues of inclusion? Then you've come to the right place! In our workshop, we will discuss together what inclusion is—or can be. This involves not only exploring different perspectives but also concrete strategies and pitfalls that you should consider when planning your project. Designing inclusive programs always involves making decisions, thinking about access options, and reflecting on blind spots. Experience shows that the latter is often easier to do through exchange with others. We therefore invite you to come to us with your questions so that we can learn more together about the challenges and opportunities of inclusive projects or projects on the topic of inclusion.
